Weather Policy

What is our weather policy?

In the event there is unfavorable forecasted weather, we are faced with the decision of whether to announce closing before we open or attempt to open with the possibility of having to close at or shortly after opening.

Moisture, whether from dew, rain or snow adversely impacts our displays due to electrical shorts. Due to this, there are several factors to consider such as the safety, providing timely notice of closure, and ensuring guests who do join us have a positive experience.

We have previously attempted to open, only to have several displays go out 15 minutes before opening, as well as announced closer due to forecasted weather only for it to be a beautiful evening. Therefore, our weather policy is that we will make every attempt to open. We will not decide to close based on forecasted weather. At what point there is hazards conditions or we have lost two of our major displays (snowflake forest/tunnel/Christmas tree) or four collections, we will close.

When our weather policy is in effect, we strongly encourage guests to consider attending another evening. Particularly those guests who are traveling any distance or who are visiting for the first time.

Our goal is for each time a guest visits, they have an unforgettable holiday experience – a positive one. Guests who choose to attend while our weather policy is in effect understand we cannot control when the weather will impact our decision to open or close and if displays are not working, we do not offer rain checks or refund admission passes.
